Message From Diana NEW UPDATE 10/17/10 Friends and Family, Good News, Rick came home from the hospital today. As you can guess we are all elated. After 20 days in the hospital we are glad to have him with us. The doctors tell us he should have a full recovery but it will take quite some time, some therapy and good old fashioned love and home care. He will be on blood thinners the rest of his life but he has convinced the doctors to allow him to ride again with some restrictions, after his recuperation. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to everyone for your prayers, well wishes and cards. All of your support has meant so much to Rick and I that words cannot show all our appreciation and it has made us both so thankful for the wonderful people in our lives. Still keep Rick in your prayers, he has a way to go yet. But we have seen in Rick's recovery the power of prayer. Thank you all again and God Bless, Love, Rick and Diana Friends and Family, I guess most of you know now of Rick's Illness. He suffered a Blood Clot on the lung while in Aruba and his heart stopped twice, once for 16 minutes another time for 5 minutes. He was resuscitated and treated for the correct problem (Thanks to my angel Daughter-In-Law's training and quick thinking) in the emergency room in Aruba. After he was stabilized there we had him flown home by Air Ambulance (Thanks to my Hero son). We have been informed by numerous medical professionals that most people who suffer this do not survive. He is healing but has had some setbacks. He also has a post traumatic psychosis and is having a difficult recovery. The doctors expect a full recovery but it will be a long and stressful time. Please keep Rick in your prayers. He speaks of everyone , and I mean everyone (Friends, Family, Cowboys, Old Work Asssociates, etc) often and wants everyone to know how much he loves you all. If not a problem please send Rick a card and let him know you care, I believe it will help in his recovery. Please send to our house and I will see he gets them or hopefully he will be here soon and can get them himself. Also please forward to anyone I may have missed.
