What class is God in?
Do you have God tagged and labeled and placed in your tack box or tack room on your trailer?
What class of following Jesus are you in?
Here are a couple of letters to God from kids that help introduce this teaching:
Dear God, I am American. What are you? Robert
Dear God, I bet it is very hard for you to love everybody in the whole world. There are only four people in our family and I can never do it. Nan
We all know what is inside our tack boxes or tack rooms. There are things like saddles, stirrups, bridles, halters, reins, bits, harnesses, martingales, and breastplates and more. When we are preparing to ride our horse, we get our tack out from the tack room and get the horse ready to ride. When we are finished with riding, we put the horse tack back up in the tack room until the next time we desire to ride, or until the need arises again.
Cowboys and cowgirls that is how so many folks treat Daddy God, the God of all creation. They have placed God in a tack room and when the need arises, they retrieve Him from the tack room. When things are better, they place Him back in the tack room.
Some folks will get Him out once in the morning and again at night to pray to Him, and then put him back in the tack box during the day. He is a God that is 24/7 and these are some of things his Son, Jesus, came to teach us and empower us with.
So many of us have God tagged and labeled as this or that because of our opinions or others opinions.
Our opinions are like what comes out of the south bound side of a north bound horse. It is of the utmost concern to each of us what God thinks, what is on His mind, and what His will for our life is.
In the book of Isaiah (55:8-9) God informs us, “for My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than yours.”
Jesus came to show us the way and the truth and the life of God. Jesus is fully God and fully man. He came so we can remove God from the tack room of our use so we can see God fully and clearly and be used by God to make a world of difference. When we learned to remove our labels and tags of who God is and to let Him out of the box, our relationship with the living God will impact our life 24/7 and not just at prayer times.
Just as Robert asked God if he was American, we need to do the same with God. We need to ask who are You, and what do You desire from me. This is going in the right direction instead of forming our own thoughts and ways and opinions of Daddy God.
Ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ the last 27 years I have seen what happens when cowgirls and cowboys place Jesus in their tack box or room and have labeled God this or that. They have put restrictions and limitations on God which in turn has placed limitations and restrictions on the blessings God wants to bless them with.
Keeping God in a “box” produces limited blessings on one’s life. Jesus came to take you into the fullness of what you are to have. Why? Because, He came to bring you and Daddy God into an incredible intimate relationship. When you learn to give God more and more you will be in for the ride of your life!
Little Nan wrote about how God could love so many people because He is love. (I John 4:8). His love just for you is beyond words. No matter what you have done, what you have said or what you have become has not halted His love for you. All the barns in the world could not hold the love God has just for you! Remove Him from the tack room and allow him through Jesus, to become the foundation you ride through life on!!!
As mounted shooters, each one of you are in a class and you have cards to prove the class you ride and shoot in. If you were to ask Daddy God what class of following Him you are in; what do you think He would say?
He is calling you into a higher class to ride with Him!!! Happy Trails to you!!!
Love and blessings to each of you,
Rev. Doug
